The Musical Arts of Greater Chicago, a newly established 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is bringing world-class classical music to the Chicago area. We are creating stages where young prodigies, seasoned professionals, and community volunteers perform together. The organization celebrates music’s unique ability to connect generations and cultures alike.
This year the festival performs its orchestral concerts at The Hinsdale Seventh-Day Adventist Church located at 201 N Oak St.
Founded by three Chicago-based musicians, Victor Moreno, Reid Taylor and Winifred Faix Brown, Musical Arts of Greater Chicago is committed to nurturing emerging talent. This season already has featured international prodigies; A fourteen year old pianist from Chile made his orchestral debut and a twenty two year old Albanian-American pianist performed Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto, both to standing ovations from a large and excited audience. These experiences give young musicians priceless opportunities to develop their skills and advance their careers performing alongside other world-class soloists with professional orchestras and the highest quality instruments.
The artistic direction is of a global experience and caliber that expects the best for everyone involved.
Our goal is to continue to achieve major grants and donations to enable an exceptionally wide audience to participate for free or at a low cost.
The Festival Chorus brings together a mix of generations. Led by seasoned professionals who have graced the stages at venues including the Chicago Lyric Opera, Chicago Symphony Chorus , Music of the Baroque and Carnegie Hall, among others. We also heartily welcome our ambitious adult, university and high school volunteers ! We are in the planning stages of forming a chorus that will tour and also participate with other Midwestern groups.
The Festival Orchestra is composed of professional musicians, including members of Chicago Lyric Opera, Chicago Symphony, and Milwaukee Symphony as well as exceptionally gifted, young players.
For Hinsdale, Musical Arts of Greater Chicago represents a Cultural Movement that connects the community with international talent and professional-level musical experiences. By offering opportunities for mentorship, collaboration, and public engagement, this exciting new venture already enriches the local arts landscape and fosters a broad new international generation of musicians. Looking ahead, the organization aims to bring more performances and community -with -artist events throughout the year.
We are committed to Live Streaming all performances to a global audience as well as maintaining a creative and strong digital presence with the community of
master classes, lectures and conversations with the artists.
Musical Arts of Greater Chicago is poised to become a cornerstone of the Chicagoland area’s musical and cultural life. We invite you to join the adventure.
